About Me
My blog consists of the following:
- Hate towards anyone pissing me off
- General talk
- Excessive swearing …sometimes
- …and general gaming news!
About me!
- I currently administrate the IRC network known as ReplayIRC. The old name of the Internet Relay Chat network was sgwIRC.
- Precursors to this was the following IRC networks in order from oldest to newest.
- CentralChat in 2003-2004. (Channel op of the #rollercoastertycoon channel)
- EnterTheGame from 2005-2006. (#rollercoastertycoon IRC channel moved to this network. I became staff of this irc network a few months later after the fact.)
- GlobalGamers from 2006-2007. (This is where #rollercoastertycoon’s IRC channel was last at, I became staff on this network as request after leaving EnterTheGame IRC network.)
- As 2007 of November, SGWirc came to be. It started off by a server a great friend of mine bought over in the Netherlands/Holland. This server to date on ReplayIRC is still there, existing as a hub server. As of this writing, ReplayIRC has grown from a normal 30 users a day all the way to 150 users daily spanning across 100 IRC channels over seven user server.
- Precursors to this was the following IRC networks in order from oldest to newest.
- I currently moderate the forums of Stargate Worlds. (Early 2008 – current)
- I use to moderate the Atari community forums from (September 2004 to October 2005). I left on personal reasons.
- I spent much of my time there on the Atari Community forums building out a community spending much of my time putting together an old community that was spread across the internet. This community at the time use to reside on the once-largely known website as RCTStation. RCTStation shutdown and left much of the community lost due to the websites owner not having finances available to spend on such a large website.
- During this time as a moderator on Atari community forums, I spent a lot of time discussing various community issues and ways to help grow the community at Atari community with Ken Allen, nodster (Man, for the life of me I cannot remember your real name, sorry!!) and Jelly, also known as Jon Nelson. Jon was the man who originally promoted me as a moderator to the RCT series discussion board. However, a good man to this day I feel really bad for dropping him and dropping the ball on, was sebar. To this day, whenever i reflect back to the RCT days, i think of you. Without you, I would probably not be on the internet as much, nor use IRC to this day! I can’t thank you time and time again for how much you’ve helped me along the way a few years back.
- On AtariCommunity.com, to be precise, I moderated the Roller Coaster Tycoon series forums.
- Late 2005, after building out a great community, forum expansions and testing of the RCT3 expansions, I decided it was best for me to leave that community. I’ve accomplished something that I can be proud of at this point, I wish the current moderators of the Atari community forums good luck.
- I currently manage this webserver (this website) and keep it in tip-top shape.
- If you’re looking for shared webhosting, check out ReplayWebhosting.com
- WraithGD, a good friend of mine lets me keep this server in working order. I don’t own this server, i just manage it keeping it in a working state.
- I currently am the network admin of ExtremeLanKC in the Kansas City metro. ELKC is an event that I attend monthly to manage their network.
- I use to be a mobile DJ around the early 2000′s. I left that business, as that demand in this area isn’t just as desired around 2004. It may ave changed now in 2009, but i’ve lost my true love for DJ’ing.
Websites I manage, keep up to date, and so on!
- ReplayIRC.com
- ExtremeLanKC.com
- Kclan.net
- VerifyTheNet.com/org/net
- this blog.
Websites that i use to run, staff, own that is no longer online!
- RCT2 Temple
- RCT3.us
- Mobile Dance 5000
- …and a few others I don’t remember off the top of my head.
Now, in a nut shell, what does all this seem to be good for? Community coordination, building up and out communities, management of networks.
Sadly, many companies don’t care or let alone know what IRC is. Lesser to the fact, irrelevant to current day workings. However, I’ve spent much of my time helping build out communities, and creating a web of users (irony). Giving a community something to use, without being stuck out in the open. I like seeing people happy, I like seeing people go without issues. Sure, call me a perfectionist, however that’s just how i am. I’m sure that nothing will ever be perfect, but it’s always worth the shot of trying to make that something perfect somewhere, somehow at some time in my life.
I’ll be blunt and quick with the following (mostly).
Religion: I am not all that religious, it’s not because my parents didn’t go to church. It’s not because I feel "that god" does not exist. I just never took the time out of my life to be wrapped around something in my life to think about. In a retrospect, I feel a god does exist; but yet to have felt/seen such an occurrence.
Personal: I’ve spent the past decade (almost!) on the internet. I’m an internet addict (read: web junkie), I’ll admit that. I graduated high school back in 2007. I do miss those days… as those days didn’t make me feel lonely like it does now nearly four years after graduation. I really do wish back in 2007 i spent more time with my local friends.
Job: I currently am not employed, I’ve lost hope in finding a job since summer of 2008. If I cannot get a job around summer of 2009, I’ll be taking college to just learn my life away.
What i wish: I wish many things. My one wish is that I had a job. Without one, I’m honestly loosing my motivations to do much at all.
Hobbies: IRC, computers, weather, civil defense sirens, space.
- Space is something that has thrown me around in loops. It always had made me ask, why. Sure, why is a very broad question. But I ask it in the sense of why do we exist? why here? During summer I like to take time out of my life at night and star gaze. Sometimes with a telescope, other times just with a naked eye. Always love doing that.
- Civil defense sirens has been a long time hobby of mine. While people do not think of how cool a siren is, or the model of a siren, company / makers of them and so forth. I like them because of the sounds that is generated at such immense amounts. Let alone, I am still to this day in awe at all the communities and towns that do not have an outdoor warning system. Sure, they make noise and a lot of racket. But that is what they are to do. Let alone, on the older sirens made the mechanics that went into making them is something worth learning.
- Weather. Since I do live in the mid-west and all, nah kidding with where that’s going. But i do live in the mid-west. I love weather, tornadoes mainly! Spent much of my time online whenever I could to learn about tornadoes. Needless to say, what i learned and want to learn are two whole different scenarios.
- Computers. Ever since windows…scratch that, the apple computers (green screens) at my grandparents house in the VERY early 1990′s (when i was a little guy) I was fascinated by it. To cut the story short, i have build quite a fair share of computers in my time either from new parts or spare parts. Let alone my fair share of operating systems and the series upon said operating systems.
- IRC, well, that’s obvious from the above!
BC’s got a blog! =p
Why yes, I do!
