While I haven’t updated my blog in quite some time,I might as well do so now.
The good bad and boring…
Good:
- New groups are flocking to ReplayIRC (yay!!)
- About done with college for the year!
Bad:
- More college to go.
- No job yet… 
- IRC services are getting updates but at the expense of join / quits… a lot.
- Not much money means no new stuff for me to get for a while.
The boring:
- Server maintenance
- Waiting for LEFT FOR DEAD TWO TO COME OUT ARGH!IHWEHKADGJDSFGH
So there you have it, the simple monthly recap.
Come 2010, I plan on streaming(live video) some tornado’s out around central to eastern Kansas. So we will see about that. I’ll have a post regarding it and a stream when it comes time. Plus at an added factor, a lot of pictures of the storm formation.

Well, this past weekend turned out to be interesting none the less. Storm Prediction Center was predicting tornadoes and all the other great stuff around me this past weekend around eastern Kansas. However, it all never fully came together (sadface). Just some rain and a little wind, and that was about it. However, mother nature did put on a nice little lightning show out to my south and west for much of the night.
Anyhow, as a little hobby of mine is Civil Defense sirens. Sirens build from early 1990′s and down. Johnson county Kansas will be working in conjunction tomorrow for a statewide tornado drill. So that will be fun. I will be recording a siren form the early 1980′s that’s actually electronic. Only one in this county needless to say! So, today, the TV show 24. Then tomorrow, simulated tornado drill around 1.30PM. I have a fun and boring life these days.

So, the week after Valentines day. ( I never got a valentine. ) But aside that, SGW Weekly’s new website is coming along fine. Some code modifications and other fun stuff needed to be coded in just ot rid of some browser bugs. They should have the Archived show on line on their website soonish. ReplayIRC won’t be hosting the live casts anymore since they will be hosted on SGW Weekly’s file repository now.
Next up, Hackers in BattleField 2. Yes, any game will have hackers, that’s not what I am getting at here. Electronic Arts and DICE since June of 2008 have promised a patch for BF2, dubbed the 1.5 patch. However, It is now February 2009 – seems like vaporware of a patch now. The entire community has waited for a patch to stop the commander asset hacking, let alone the crash to desktop errors that are being caused by the hackers and exploiters. More over so, I would put BF2 down if it wasn’t for the internal team work that happens on the servers that I play on. Just that at this point, I feel as if the 1.5 patch won’t happen and is just false hope and gimmicks to keep the game on a light life support until BF3 or so.

Well, since this is my first blog post about SGW weekly, I might as well take the time to explain a little about the show!
SGW Weekly is a Video/Radio show made up of the dedicated fans over at the Stargate Worlds Official Forums in reaction to the latest upsurge of daily information. This show is composed of a round table discussing the week’s cache of information given from CME and the community surrounding. This show was also created to help promote the new upcoming MMORPG called Stargate Worlds.
I have been helping Dec0y and Utopian Hok’taur get this show on the road by allowing them to use our shout cast media service and web hosting on the server. It’s a new service overall, but I honestly do hope this group grows to a larger audience in the community.
Currently the server is set to allow 250 users at one time at a maximum streaming rate of 192kbps. So as far as I am aware, the server should cope just fine with what is needed.

Lets just start off with… Parents motherboard fried, north bridge chip fused to the heat sink and caused ram, cpu and mobo to just crap out. Ended up with new motherboard, ram and cpu. But hey, got some good deals on all of it! 25$ or so on DDR2 type ram 1GB a pop. 150$ for a CPU, Core2Duo @ 2.66Ghz. And a motherboard that costs as much as a processor it seem’d.
I also got myself a new hard drive and smacked Windows7 on it. 1.5TB hard drive for 100$ is damned good!
